Someone posted a comment to the previous entry. The truck that ran out of gas was neither the 1991 Dodge Dakota nor the 1997 Chevy Astro Van. Rather, a very large 1ton truck that we are using to transfer tools, cable reels, ladders and other junk that is necessary to complete the job we are on now. It is a big boxy thing that is not aero-dynamic. The Chevy van and the Dodge truck get reasonable mpg rate. The 1ton gets about 7-8 mpg. But it is a necessary evil.
