I have purchased more memory for my computer. It is suppose to make things run a bit smoother. I am going to attempt to install the 2 128MB DIMM cards tomorrow. I will be removing the existing 64MB card. Depending on how it all goes, you may or may not be hearing from me in the near future. BTW, I am willing to sell the disconnected 64MB card for a good price; let the bidding begin!

Posted by: Stepan at October 30, 2002 05:22 PMHi there--your clever daughter Jennifer figured out why I have been unable to see your site--whoever or whatever was responsible for mom.mermu.net forwarding me on to www.gallerita.net stopped their forwarding courtesy, and since I had never updated my bookmark (had no idea I needed to) I was no longer seeing a page. But now I'm back and commenting away!
Getting more RAM in your machine should definitely make a difference assuming it installs okay and runs with your motherboard. You'd be amazed at how difficult that can be sometimes--at Dell we had to test every supplier, and if there were, say, 5 possible suppliers of the 64MB item, only 2 to 3 would work with the motherboard, so we would source our memory from them only. And every time Procurement wanted to use a new supplier, we had to run their memory through all our tests before giving the go-ahead--they couldn't just go ahead and negotiate b/c of the manufacturing differences, I guess it was.
Hope it went well.
