Chicken Soup for the ailing soul

Last week Danny was supposed to come over and install Windows XP on my computer. I called him on Thursday and he sounded terrible and said he would like to come over on Friday. On Friday I called and he was still feeling poorly. I asked him if he would like me to bring him some home-made chicken noodle soup. In a very uninthusiastic voice he said: "I guess." I decided to go to the store, buy the ingredients, make the soup and take him some. However, I decided to take it on Saturday. A few hours later, I get a call from Danny and he is wanting to know where his soup is. He is a thespian. He did too good a job of making me think he was not that interested in the soup. I told him of my plan for Saturday and he said ok. So, on Saturday, I get up, go to my Chiropractor appointment and then to Tom Thumb to buy fixins for soup. I am home by about 9:15AM. The soup is completed by about 11AM. While it is cooling a bit, I indulge in a bowl. It was yummy. I decide to split the pot and keep half of it for us. I find a suitable container for Danny's share. I fill it. Then I decided to test the secureness of the lid. So, I take his portion to the sink and turn it upside down. At which point I found that the lid was not very secure. The entire contents ended up in the garbage disposal. So, I took Danny my share of the soup. He devoured a large bowl shortly after I arrived at his house. I am glad I halved my effort.

2001 Chevy S10

My boss has been driving a Chevy S10 company truck. He really wanted a car. The company offered him a Ford Focus. It looks as if I will be getting his truck. It still has a bit of the new car smell to it. It also has electric windows and locks and a radio w/ CD player. It is not a done deal, because the truck is not officially assigned to him yet. If that happens I am getting the truck and relinquishing the van. At the moment I have both vehicles at my disposal.

Very cool--hope you get the truck with the new car smell and the CD player. Fingers crossed for you.

I think you need to find a way of testing lid security where a negative outcome doesn't produce such disastrous results. :-)
