What a Great Lady

I attended a cocktail party hosted by Tex In The City for a book launch of Ann Richards new book about surviving with osteoporosis. I met Ann and spoke with her a bit. She is such a wonderful lady. TITC did a beautiful job of pulling it all together. For all you Gilligans Island fans, there was a major star from that show in attendance to honour Ann as well. We had so much fun.

I also had a world of fun with two of my sisters. The evening was made so much more special by their presence at this event. The muscles in my stomach are aching from all the belly laughing that they evoked tonight.

When I get back to Texas, I will post pictures from tonight on my webshots and link to them from this site. So, ya'll come back.

Gilligan's Island was once one of my favorite shows to watch after getting home from school. By the way, you mentioned you had alot of fun with two of your sisters. I know that Leah was in attendance. Which other sister attended, Kathleen or Margaret? Since I am a betting person I would put my money on Margaret.

That's it? Who else was there? What was the venue like? What did everybody wear? Were there any last minute dramas? Was there music? Did you get a copy of the book? Did Dad have a good time? Was it a cash bar? Tell me more!!!!

I did not know Ann Richards had osteoporosis--I believe that's what John's mother has.

That's great you went to the party. I heard Ann Richards when I was selected to participate in Girls State (she was the Treasurer then; it was before she ran for Governor), and she was quite a lady.

You and I used the same link for Tina Louise in our party entries. I am so glad you enjoyed yourself at the party with your family. Thanks again for all of your help and I look forward to seeing the pictures soon.

Ann was diagnosed with Osteopenia. It is a sort of pre-Osteoporosis stage. Both her mother and father suffered from the debilitating disease before they died. The book is great. Have you read it yet?
