Because of the work I am doing for SBC, the company requires that I work the night shift. I am not adjusting very well to it. My work week begins at 9:00PM on Monday and ends Friday at 7:00AM. I do get to come home between 7AM and 9PM. Today, we adjusted our work schedule to make a delivery of scrap cable. We worked 2PM to midnight. It is now almost 2AM and I am not sleepy. I have lots of things to do tomorrow. I am going to force myself to fall asleep as soon as I have finished this entry.
When I was a young girl, I listened to KTRN on the am dial in Wichita Falls. One day the DJ asked for callers to call in any elephant jokes. They had been very popular at that time. So, I called, told my joke and when I delivered the punchline...well here is the dialog from that call:
DJ: "KTRN"
me: "I have an elephant joke for you."
DJ: "Okay...go ahead"
Me:"Did you hear about the elephant that had diarhia?"
DJ: "No."
me: "It was all over town! hehehehe"
DJ: "Is this Rita Karl?"
Evidently, I called the radio station alot back then and he recognized my voice or my humor, not sure which. Also, we listened to AM because I do not believe FM was around at that time. If it was around, we did not have a radio with that frequency.
