I have been remiss in my postings here. There are many reasons and just one reason----I have been very busy.
For several months I worked the night shift. Those hours seemed to consume my entire life. If I was not at work, I was at home trying to get the appropiate sleep in so that I could function properly at work and at home. I did not quite master the technique to accomplish this, but it is moot since for the time being I am back on days.
Jerry had surgery two weeks ago. For all you medically minded people it was a growth on the paratid gland. It was benign. He had to spend the night in the hospital. He left the hospital with a drainage tube and bag hanging off his face. It was kind of gross. Three days after the surgery, I took him to the doctor and she removed the tube and bag. He is still experiencing some paralysis and pain. He has pain medication for the pain. He uses a straw to drink all his liquids or else they would fall out the right side of his mouth. A better word for fall would be dribble. The doctor is pleased with his recovery so far. Jerry is ready to get back to normal.
Last Sunday, while I was at Danny's house getting my new computer built, I began experiencing pain in my back right teeth. I could not tell whether or not is was the upper or lower. The pain was so intense that I was able to talk Jerry out a couple of his pain killers. On Monday morning, I called and got an appointment with my dentist. It was scheduled for Thursday at 9am. In the meantime, I unearthed the pain killers from my surgery in 2001 and began taking them. They worked okay. On Thursday, the dentist discovered that the tooth that he had crowned just the year before had decayed down to the bone. That was causing my intense pain. We decided that the best route for me would be to extract the tooth. Before this can be done I have to complete a series of antibiotics. The doctor and I also talked about the vacation I have planned and said it would be fine to wait until the week after I return from Florida. The antibiotics seem to have done their job. I am not experiencing any pain any longer.

Posted by: Blue-eyed Blonde at July 26, 2004 11:39 AMWhat is Margaret talking about?
Margaret is commenting on a different blog entry than this one. I believe its title is A Sad Tale, The Rest of the story. I am not sure why she posted a comment for that story on this entry, we will have to ask her in Destin.
