We, the Karls, are always looking for a freebie. Last weekend while Jennifer, Magda, Meredith and I attended the expo for the Danskin in New Jersey, there was a booth that offered a free pedometer if you allowed one of the two podiatrists do a foot screening. I really didn't want my feet screened, but I did want the meter. So, I waited for my turn with the podiatrist. When I entered, Meredith was just finishing, so she joined me in my screening. I took off my shoes and the Doc took one look at my feet and said; "your feet are perfect!" Finally, something on me is deemed perfect---perfect arch, perfect toes, no bunions. So, my reward was two-fold, I got the meter and the knowledge that at least one part of me is perfect.
We had so much fun in NJ/NY. Meredith did very well in her triathlon. The expo was held at a very nice hotel. Jennifer decided to take Magda on a stroll around the hotel. I joined Meredith in the expo for awhile. About 45 minutes later I called Jen, so I could meet her and Magda. She told me how to get to where she was. I was so surprised to see the beautiful Atlantic Ocean. The weather was beautiful. Jen and I stopped at an ocean front restaurant. I ordered salad and lobster bisque. Jen ordered salad and clam chowder. It was delicious. Magda feasted on the crackers and lemons. It was a huge bonus being so close to the ocean. Neither I nor Jen expected it. In fact, before I got out there, she stopped and asked a couple if it was indeed the Atlantic Ocean.
On the day I returned, Tim and Catherine arrived at my house. They were escaping Hurricane Rita. Felicia flew into DFW the next day from her business trip. We had so much fun. Tim, Felicia, Catherine, Molly and Scarlet, you can visit my house anytime.
