Skipbo

Tonight Mother and I played a couple of games of Skipbo. She beat me at both games. However, in the background my iPod was playing various tunes from my musical library. There is one tune that reminds me of my dad's piano playing. It is Sunpie's Stomp. When I commented to mom that this reminded me of dad's piano, she asked if I remembered his playing "Rhapsody In Blue. " I did not remember him playing that piece. It is one of my favorites. Mom said that he would practice and practice that because he played it in the minstrels. I asked if that is when all the players would go "black". and she said yes. She asked, "who has the pictures of the minstrels? " So, if anyone knows where the pictures of daddy and Jesse Estrada's Jazz band with blackend faces are, please advise in the comment area of this site. OOps! I am wrong. It was not Jesse Estrada's band, it was John Bindel, Benny Withrow and John Williams. She remembers a song where John Bindel sat on Benny Withrow's lap and sang "Sonny Boy." The truth is, mom does not remember all who participated, but she does remember that it "was a good show."

Rita, you should have a copy of the pictures on your Karl shoebox CD.
