Mother and AOL

Yesterday in the mail, Mother received a confirmation packet from the United States Postal Service confirming the address change she had submitted. In the packet, were several advertisements. One of those ads came from AOL. It was a CD. Mother commented that she would listen to it later. I thought to myself, “that will be interesting to see if you could hear anything on a software disc.” I did not voice this to Mom.

After dinner, I had two DVR’d shows to watch, Medium and Commander in Chief. I was about 20 minutes into Medium, when Mother got up and left the room. I was so involved in the show; I did not notice her departure. A few moments later I heard the most awful noise coming from the direction of the hall. It sounded like it could be the fire alarm, which is mounted to the ceiling right outside Mother’s bedroom. I ran into the hall. I could not see smoke, but I was certain I smelled it. I went to Mother’s room, to save her from the house afire. She was at her Bose Radio/CD player. She had the AOL disc in her hand. It was the AOL disc that made the awful noise.

Afterward, Mother and I had several good laughs about the incident.

That is hilarious that you could smell a sound.
By the way, when are you going to post the digital pictures you took in Austin during Jennifer's B-day weekend??
