Tonight Mother and I went to Jerry's for dinner. While Jerry was running around doing his thing, Mother and I sat in front of the TV drinking our glasses of wine. At one point Mother raised her glass and said; "happy 4th." I almost corrected her by saying don't you mean labor day? But then I realized today is the 4th! So, I held my tongue. Mother realized her error a few seconds later. I told her I was going to correct her, but when I realized it was the 4th, didn't. We laughed about it. Maybe you had to be there.
Meredith has been on my mind most of this day. I love her and I am glad she is okay.
