Happiness Would be Lubbock Texas in my rear view mirror!

Here is an email I sent to a co-worker of mine...it is pretty self-explanatory:

Hi,

I had a freaking wreck tonight on my way home from work...A lady traveling in the far right lane started hydro-planing and lost control. I saw her losing control and moved as far to the left as I could...it was not enough. She hit me, I slowed to a stop and I watched her car spinning and crashing in my rear view mirror...I would rather have had Lubbock Texas in my rear view mirror. Anyway, my car is not safe to drive, so I need to talk to Mike about taking tomorrow off to take care of my car.

I am ok, just a bit edgy. When the wreck happened it was pouring down rain. I kept trying to see activity from the other car. I was not sure if the occupants were okay. I called 911. I got connected to Euless 911, since I was in Bedford, they transferred me to Bedford 911. I turned in my report and was told help was on the way...all the while, I am in the left shoulder and people were speeding past me like the road was dry. A couple of minutes went by and I called 911 again. I told them, that being on the side of the road on a rainy night was very scary...I did not want to get hit again. They assured me that someone was on the way and was told "do not move the car." Squad cars started arriving---I felt safe again. They got my information, and said that I should be okay to drive home. The car was making a scraping noise while driving home. So, I am going to try to take tomorrow off and deal with getting my car fixed. If I had been 2 seconds slower, I probably would not be writing this blog. If I had been 2 seconds faster, I would probably be going to work tomorrow.

So glad you are okay. What a scary experience - not only getting hit but having to watch it unfold and not being able to do anything about it.
