It is done. I have signed up for the 2004 Danskin Triathlon. I hope I am not the only person in my family to do this. There are a few things I like about this event. It is offered for women only. It is a very well organized race. It has some really nice freebies. The list goes on and on.
Saturday Roger and a bunch of his friends helped celebrate his 70th birthday. I took several pictures there. You can view them here.
I am going to try to post, sporatically, anecdotes that will define a great part of my future:
A woman in her forties brought the baby into the examination room where
the doctor carefully checked the infant. "The baby isn't gaining enough
weight," said the doctor. "Is the baby breast fed or bottle fed?"
"Breast fed," the woman replied. The doctor then ordered her, "Strip
down to your waist, please." She did as she was told. After examining
her breasts thoroughly, the doctor said, "No wonder this baby is hungry.
You don't have any milk. "To which the woman replied, "I know, I'm his
grandma."
On Wednesday the CWA gave SBC thirty days notice of our intention to strike if negotiations between us do not improve. The primary contention is health benefits. If they have their way, we will no longer have these benefits. Our CEO, Ed Whitacre has become a very very wealthy man on the backs of all the loyal personel who are members of CWA. According to the link included within this entry, the company does not expect that we will strike. I will if we do not gain benefits as a result of our negotiations. Everyone I work with feels the same way. Did you hear that Ed?
