I've Been Wowed!

I got up early today, around 8:30AM. That's early, isn't it? I decided it was time to tackle my mountain of dirty clothes. So, I started pulling all my dirty clothes from the basket in the corner of my closet. I sorted them into 5 different loads. I bent down to get the "blacks" and prompty hit my forehead on the chest that tables my TV. Ouch! was the mildest of my expletives. I am now sporting a robin's sized egg on my forehead and it hurts like hell. Between loads, I ran outside and started raking and bagging what I hope is the balance of the leaves that are to fall from my trees this season. I got 10 bags ready to go and enough leaves for about another 3 on the ground, that I hope to finish tomorrow. Jerry was nice enough to come over and cut the branches from the trees that are threatening my house. Additionally, he used the leaf blower that he bought for me and cleared all the debris from the roof. I had a previous engagement tonight, so all this activity had to be over in time for me to get showered and dressed for my evening out.

Tina celebrated her 30 year service anniversary with Southwestern Bell tonight. She was so gracious to me by including me in her celebration. We went to a little Italian Restaurant called Central Park Cafe. I took my own bottle of wine, as did a couple of the other invitees. Tina gave us the heads up on this issue early on. After the meal was over, the waiter appeared at our table with a cake knife. He handed it to me. and then to Tina. And I thought to myself, Tina shouldn't have the knife to her anniversary cake! There was so much activity that I had not noticed Debbie leaving the table. When she reappeared she had a cake with a candle on it. I watched while she carried it to Tina. Then confusion set in, because she passed Tina by and placed the cake in front of me. My friends turned Tina's night into a surprize birthday party for me. The cake declared; "Happy Birthday, Rita." It had a bunch of little plastic Margarita glasses decorating it, complete with salt and lime. Tina, Debbie and Pam are such wonderful people. I am so lucky to have such wonderful friends. At any rate, I have been totally wowed by their impromptu surprise.
