Romantic Comedy

My life of late has been like a romantic comedy, but without the romance and definitely without the comedy. Today has been a good day. A good day, which I hope is the first of many. I feel I have worried M, J & D and a few of my sibs.that are aware of my dilemna. I appreciate all the councel they have given. It has been a huge help. Anyway, thanks for being there when I needed you.

On the last evening Mother was in town, she and I went to dinner. I took advantage of the passbook I purchased from Jonathan and found a coupon for a free meal at a restaurant in Arlington called The Blue Danube. The fare was delicious. The atmosphere was nice. There was a two piece band that played music. They did a very good job, inspite of the fact that there were just two of them. I think being there in that setting made Mother think of a night during her honeymoon because she told me the following story:

"One night during our honeymoon, your dad and I went to dinner. There was a band playing and we decided to dance. They called a dance where you change partners. When the change was called, I danced with a man and told him I was on my honeymoon. He immediatly stopped the dance and announced same. It happened that he and a group of his friends were there celebrating the marriage of some good friends, both of whom were inebriated beyond the ability to enjoy the celebration. So that celebration became one for us."

It was a sweet moment about a story I had never heard. I am sure that I do not have all the facts straight. I am sure if someone brings this story up to mom and retells it the way I did all my inaccuracies will be corrected.

C. A. P Gala

We had so much fun tonight. Appreciation to Margaret and Continental Airlines for purchasing the table that allowed me and 3 of my siblings to have a wonderful time at the C. A. P charity gala in Houston. Felicia, John and Courtney also attended in addition to me, Kathleen, Tim and Margaret. The fare was wonderful, the drinks were being poured freely, the items in the silent auction were being coveted and bid upon. Personally, I bid and won 4 of the items. Merry Christmas!
