Trials & Tribulations

About three weeks ago I finally got my stuff together and began the process of sueing the goofball that did foundation work for me when I first bought the house. Gary gave me a 3 year guarantee. When I started noticing issues with his work, I contacted him. He made an appointment to come and look at the foundation. He did that 7 times and all 7 seven times he was a no show. After the last disappointment, I called him and asked for refund of the money paid to him. I need to find another foundation guy and the money that Gary did not earn would make a very small dent in that cost. He agreed to send me the refund. And, again he failed to keep his promise. That was in June. I had written a letter confirming our conversation where he agreed to the refund and mailed it to him via registered mail. I am sure he knew a suit was to follow. I actually was on the fence about it. Do I want to waste anymore time pursuing what seems to be a hopeless situation? Anyway, the weekend I went to see Mom, I stopped by the courthouse in downtown Fort Worth and began the small claims suit against Gary. I am still waiting for a court date.

I checked my answering machine remotely this afternoon to see if Robin was going to cancel our dance lesson. She had not called. I did get a call from a guy named Joe from Judge Hatchett's court. He wanted to know if I would like to see about presenting my case in Judge Hatchett's court on TV. When I called him, he asked about my case. I did not qualify for the show, since Gary and I did not have a relationship outside of his doing the foundation work. So for a brief moment today I had a bit of excitement. I think I would have gotten a fair trial from Judge Hatchett.
