Cheap Gas...Well Cheaper Gas.

I wanted to share a link my boss sent to me. You enter your zip code and you can find the best prices for gas in your area. Here is the link. I used it yesterday, and while I still feel very screwed by the price I paid at the pump, the screwing doesn't feel as bad as it would have if I had purchased from my normal locale at 7 cents per gallon higher. Costco is where I normally buy gas...silly me, I thought they would be the cheapest.

A Weekend in NYC

I had a very lovely weekend. Meredith’s cousin and good friend, Karie Ponder, invited me to join her and her mom on a trip to NYC. Karie works for American Airlines and was providing me with a buddy pass. We departed DFW on Thursday at 5:30PM. We arrived at Meredith’s apartment at about 11PM. We sat around chatting for a couple of hours. One of the things Carol, Karie’s mom, wanted to do was go to the Today show. It was Cinco de Mayo and she had a Mexican style dress in the colors of the Mexican flag to wear for the occasion. We went to the grocery store and Carol bought a poster board. Meredith decorated it with: “Happy Cinco de Mayo, Ya’ll; Wichita Falls, TEXAS. At around 3:00AM she announced that she would not go to bed and that she was heading over to the NBC studios in a few minutes, her goal--to be on TV. So, at 3:30AM, Carol left Meredith’s apartment on her trek to the Today show. Meredith, Karie and I all went to bed. At 7AM Carol called and had Karie turn on the TV. She made the camera shot several times. Her family and friends in WF all reported seeing her.

The high point of the trip was The Color Purple. It was wonderful. I was not that exited about seeing this show. However, from the moment the curtain rose until it fell, I was engrossed by the play and performers. Meredith got us very nice seats, 5 rows from the stage in the center section. If you find yourself in NYC, do yourself a favor and see this show. It was worth the eleven thousand five hundred pennies I spent to see it.
I made it home at about 11PM. Mother and Kathleen were playing cards at the dining room table. We stayed up until about 1AM. I am at work now and very very sleepy. I hope a get a good nights sleep tonight.
